About the role
The Squad is newly established to support Nordic growth ambitions and aims to strengthen early damage assessment, partner steering, and repair cost optimization capabilities across Motor Claims.
We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist who will have the opportunity to build the Squad’s QA practices and processes from the ground up. You will initially focus on manual testing to develop a strong understanding of the business domain, system landscape, and end-to-end user flows. Based on this foundation, you will gradually shape the testing strategy and drive the transition toward effective and sustainable test automation. In this role, you will lead quality practices within the team, influence the testing strategy, and contribute to both manual and automated testing in an Agile environment. In addition to QA skills, we expect you to leverage modern AI driven‑ testing practices to accelerate analysis, improve coverage, and enhance overall testing efficiency.
As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you play a key role in ensuring the required quality level of software deliveries across the entire system. You lead the test process within the team, define and control test scope, and are responsible for test deliverables throughout the development lifecycle.
A holistic testing mindset is essential - you look beyond individual features and validate end-to-end business flows, integrations, risks, and non-functional aspects. You also use various tools to boost productivity and improve the consistency of quality engineering activities.
What are you going to do?
Drive and improve the test process within the team
Create and execute test plans and test cases
Combine API, UI, integration, and end-to-end business flow testing
Participate in test automation scope definition, develop test scenarios and analyze results
Apply risk-based approaches and ensure proper test coverage
Collaborate closely with developers, POs, analysts, UX, and business users
Apply Holistic view of testing by supporting Shift-left approaches
Collaborate with people from other functional areas
Participate in Agile ceremonies and release testing
Track defects and maintain documentation in Azure DevOps
What do we expect from you?
Must have
4+ years of hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing, and a genuine interest in working with both as part of the role
Good understanding of QA methodologies and Agile/Scrum
Open mindset and willingness to collaborate
Experience with API, GUI/ Web application testing
API and UI test automation. Gherkin/ Cucumber (BDD)
SQL knowledge
Day-to-day responsibilities require a good/excellent level of English to communicate with clients and colleagues from other countries
Nice to have
Ability to read C#
Experience with Azure DevOps, TeamCity, CI/CD
Ability to use modern AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT or similar) effectively for test design, analysis, documentation, and optimization
ISTQB certification
Insurance domain knowledge
Latvian language skills
