About the role
At If Insurance, we’re on a journey of bringing Agentic AI into everyday operations, scaling from first implementations to industrializing production of AI agents that support our employees and customers at scale. Our AIKA Squad, part of intelligent Automation Enabler, is responsible for developing and operating AI Agents across the organization to help automate business processes.
We are now looking for an AI Agent Developer who wants to design and build agents that think, plan, act, and deliver real value for If customers and employees. If you get excited about LLMs, autonomous workflows, enterprise-grade architectures, and turning AI into safe, reliable production systems, you will feel at home with us.
You’ll be working at the heart of If, collaborating across all If Countries, Business Areas, Tribes, and Squads, as well as with the whole IT organization.
Our international Intelligent Automation unit consists of skilled professionals across six locations: Espoo, Turku, Copenhagen, Riga, Vilnius, and Kuala Lumpur. We have already previously scaled RPA as well as Generative AI assistants across the company and are now on track with AI Agent journey. What are you going to do?
Build AI Agents capable of reasoning, planning, using tools and collaborating
Implement robust evaluation, tracing, monitoring and safety controls for enterprise-grade deployments
Integrate AI Agents into different data sources and applications
Work closely with business teams to transform use cases from ideas to production
Contribute to developing and maintaining our internal AI Agent platform
What do we expect from you?
Must have
Strong engineering mindset with curiosity and willingness to learn
Hands-on experience with LLMs / AI agents and OpenAI or Azure OpenAI
Understanding of LLM orchestration (agents, tools, function calling, routing, planners)
Solid software engineering skills in C# (.NET), Python, or TypeScript
Experience building reliable, cloud‑native systems
Comfortable owning work end‑to‑end and collaborating in a team
Pragmatic approach balancing innovation, safety, and reliability
Day-to-day responsibilities require a good/excellent level of English to communicate with colleagues from other countries
Nice to have
Experience with Azure AI / Microsoft agent frameworks
Familiarity with LLM evaluation and observability tools
Experience with Azure services (Functions, App Services, Storage, etc.)
CI/CD (Azure DevOps) and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform/Bicep)
Experience with multiple programming languages
Using AI‑assisted dev tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot)
Our promise to you
Monthly salary: €3500–€5500 in Latvia / €4000–€5500 in Lithuania, depending on your qualifications. Salary ranges may vary due to differences in employment taxation across Baltic countries.
